" James really understood my vision for this house!"

- Marc Capablanco

About the Project:

When Dr. Capobianco purchased this home, he inherited a structure riddled with construction defects and a dysfunctional floor plan. Though perched on a hill, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, bay and airport, it did not capitalize on its views.  The Master Bedroom was only 9-feet wide and Master Bathroom 5-feet wide. Ziggurat was brought aboard to improve the overall layout and to connect his house with its ocean views. The doctor desired something modern, nautical and truly different.  He dreamed of living as though he were on a cruise ship, where he could entertain on"promenade decks", enjoying the fresh ocean air and sweeping vistas.  Dr. Capobianco selected a dynamic concept resembling a 1930s ocean liner that Ziggurat had conceived replete with curved steel and teak staircases, a rooftop Jacuzzi in a windowed "bridge", and a lighthouse-shaped chimney.  The doctor now "lives everyday as though he is on a cruise".  He intends to have a new, teak garage door with portholes, and landscaping, in place by early 2008.
