Mark and Martine, residents of Coronado, envisioned a dramatic fireplace that would bring elegance and sophistication to their home, reminiscent of an English Tudor manor. Their original fireplace, a simple rectangular box with a glass enclosure, failed to capture the grandeur they desired. They enlisted James of Ziggurat Design, who collaborated with master woodworker Del Cover to create a stunning Alder mantelpiece. The fireplace features intricate carvings, including a depiction of the Coronado coronet and Acanthus filigree, all crafted in limestone. The result is a breathtaking focal point in their living room that has far exceeded their expectations.
